Jeff Joniak Playcalls and Dennis Green Postgame Blowup

If you haven't had the pleasure of listening to Jeff Joniak call one of the Chicago Bears games on WBBM radio 780 in Chicago, you don't know what you're missing. He's one of the best, no doubt. And not just on a local level. He makes it fun to listen to a football game on the radio, and he's one of those rare playcallers, who makes you turn the sound off on your television set just to hear his animated calls.

I managed to snag a couple snippits of Joniak's calls on Monday night in the Bears improbably 24-23 win against the Arizona Cardinals. If you turned off the game thinking it was over, or didn't get a chance to hear Joniak's calls on one of the many Tuesday television and radio programs, take a gander of what took place here: Joniak Audio

And if you didn't hear, well, Arizona head coach Dennis Green blew up in the postgame press conference. It was a classic moment that was played over and over again today. The video is funnier than the audio, but the audio will do. Check it out here: Green Audio

How funny is that? What's even more classic was the audio immediately following that sound clip. As Green stormed out of the press conference, what appears to be the Cardinals public relations guy holding his hands folded by his chest says something like, "Thanks, Coach... OK, Matt Leinart will be joining us here..." Classic.

The best comment I've heard so far, though, is: Can you imagine Dennis Green driving home last night repeating to himself over and over again like a possessed madman, "The Bears are who we thought they were... The Bears are who we thought they were... The Bears are who we thought they were"?

Now that's priceless.
